THE BENEFITS OF MASSAGE
In other civilizations besides our own, massage has long been proven effective. It is even an integral part of some traditional medicines, such as in India or China.
In Europe, under the guise of Judeo-Christian tradition, body massages were long avoided.
Just a few years ago, massage was considered a therapeutic treatment, delivered only by physiotherapists to physical trauma patients and professional athletes.
Nowadays, wellness massage has become more accessible, and massage therapy, in all its forms, is now part of our comfort, well-being, and health routine. There are a multitude of massage techniques for all ages and occasions.
Numerous very serious studies have demonstrated the importance of the virtues and beneficial effects of a good massage , but be careful, it must be properly performed by a qualified professional.
The main benefits of massage:
- Combating stress
- Promote sleep
- Soothe pain in any area of the body: shoulders, back, neck, legs, feet and joints.
- Improve blood and lymphatic circulation
- Strengthen the immune system
- To bring relaxation, a sense of letting go,...
- Enjoy the present moment
During your next session, remember these few tips to prolong its benefits and retain the positive sensations...
Drink water:
Always water, nothing but water.
After a session, our body needs to hydrate. As mentioned above, massage improves blood and lymphatic circulation, thus allowing for the elimination of toxins.
To promote this, drink without hesitation.
To rest:
And yes, after a massage, you should avoid going back to work or being active.
Enjoy your state of relaxation and calm.
Listen to your body and respect your sensations.
Enjoy a small snack:
Note that we are not talking about having a gourmet meal here, but rather biting into an apple, enjoying a few biscuits or almonds.
Massage affects our circulatory system, it can also affect the digestive system, hence the feeling of energy loss experienced by some.
Your body will tell you what it needs.
